Terms

Fair terms, in plain English.

What you can expect from Weblit, and what we ask in return. No fine-print tricks.

The service

Weblit is a managed website service: we design and build your website, then host, secure, maintain and continuously improve it for a monthly fee. The specifics of what's included — update allowances, support and features — depend on the plan you choose.

Fees and billing

There's a one-off setup cost for the design and build, then a monthly subscription billed in advance. We'll always confirm costs in writing before work starts, and any change to your plan or pricing is agreed with you first.

What's included

Every plan includes hosting, security, backups, monitoring, support and an allowance for content updates. Smaller changes fit within your allowance; larger pieces of work are scoped and quoted clearly before anything begins. We ask that update requests are reasonable and in keeping with the spirit of the allowance.

Your content, our build

Everything you give us stays yours: your content, imagery, branding and domain. You give us permission to use them to build and run your website. The website itself — design, code and infrastructure — is built and managed by Weblit as part of your subscription.

You're responsible for making sure the content you provide is accurate and doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.

Cancelling

There are no long lock-in contracts. You can cancel with notice at any time, and we'll work with you on a fair handover — transferring your domain and content to you or your next provider cleanly. Setup costs and fees already billed aren't refundable, but you'll never be charged beyond your notice period.

Acceptable use

Your website can't be used for anything unlawful, misleading or harmful. If content or usage puts us, our infrastructure or other clients at risk, we may pause the service while we sort it out with you.

Availability and liability

We work hard to keep your website fast, secure and online, but no host can promise uninterrupted service. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim connected to the service is limited to the fees you've paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Changes to these terms

If we update these terms, we'll let you know before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by Australian law.

Questions

If anything here is unclear, ask us through the contact page — we'd rather explain it properly than hide behind legalese.
